OK, so anonymous is a bit of a cop out. Truth is I am rubbish at plant identification. If it is not a rose, bluebell, or poppy I am lost. So I don’t know what it is , but it stood out in the sunlight so I snapped it. This was taken on my new long lens at a local nature reserve. There were a lot of ‘twitchers’ around looking for a night heron, which is apparently a little rare. So of course I have a camera and a long lens, and the assumption is I am also looking for this elusive bird. I tried to sound knowledgeable for the first twenty people that asked if I had seen it, but the truth is I am as knowledgeable about birds as I am about plants. Does it look like a robin, or a swan? Then no, I haven’t seen it. But neither have you, and I have a photo of a dead plant, so who is the loser?

I realise there is an alternative crop, but that would have put the couple in the centre, and I like the steps leading nowhere. So they stay. This was taken in a village in Malta where tall buildings and narrow alleyways provided a welcome shade from the sun. The couple provided a happy stroke of luck.

    It’s gone. It just went.
    My mind is totally blank.

This is really weird. I guess even small time writers can get writers block, but my notebook is slowly filling with garbage, trying to find a decent haiku. Maybe I need a break, or maybe I go back to finding an image and shoe-horning in appropriate words? There may be more radio silence while I sort this out in my head.

    Tumbling over broken rocks.
    A force of nature.

No, not the Scream. I am not Norwegian and I can’t paint.
I sometimes wonder if photographers should have a recognisable style, so you know their work automatically. Not that it matters in most cases, certainly not in mine, but I think a quick review of the posts will show I don’t have a style at all. Like the stream above, I go with the flow and capture whatever appeals. Where did that come from? I was going to preface this drivel by saying the image is not my normal style. Then I realised I didn’t have one, so it matters not a jot.
