If I thought monochrome could be “marmite”, these will probably be more so. Mostly these have been created using the Adamsky effect. In this the subject is isolated and the remaining image is subjected to a blur, thus achieving a minimalist effect in a scene that may not be minimal at all. Adamsky themselves, after whom the effect is named, takes it far more creatively than I do, but I quite like the effect. If anyone is interested I could add a page describing how to do it in Photoshop. Let me know.
