  • Trent Bridge

    Grey skies threaten rain.
    Take shelter beneath the bridge
    ‘Til the storm has passed.

Trent Bridge straddles the River Trent (strangely), linking the City of Nottingham to West Bridgford. In the image you can see the floodlights for the cricket ground on the right, and to the left the Brian Clough stand of the City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest FC. Both are on the south side of the river. On the north side is the home of Notts County FC, separated from the City Ground by only 250 metres, making them the closest grounds to each other in the UK. Unfortunately for County fans, not quite so close in terms of league position.

  • Promotion

    End of the season,
    Promises made and fulfilled.
    Now for the playoffs.

This image was taken with my phone at the last home game of the season that Nottingham Forest won promotion. The atmosphere was celebratory, as they were in the playoffs to be promoted to the Premiership.

  • Best seats

    Best seat in the house?
I can’t even see the pitch.
    And my feet are wet.

Another from the flooding. This bench is normally set back at least 5 metres from the embankment, and has the City Ground (the WFCG) in the background. It looked an ideal season ticket purchase for the same people that bought London bridge.

  • Reflections

    At the City ground,
    Reflecting on the season.
    Better than we hoped.

Not the normal photo of a football ground, but the reflections of the flats from across the river made for something quite interesting.
