  • Flight

    Low level flying,
Wings brush the tops of the waves.
    Freedom of the skies.

  • Castles in the Sand

    Rising from the dunes,
    Defence from a bygone age,
    But still standing strong.

Like Wales, the northeast coast of England is awash with old castles. Some are total ruins, but some are still actually lived in. One is Bamburgh Castle, sat atop sand dunes and looking out over the North Sea to the Farne Islands.

  • Lobster Pots

    Stacked up and ready,
    Lobster pots eager for work.
    Awaiting the boat.

The north-east coast of England is a treasure trove of harbours, islands, and castles. Seahouses is the gateway to the Farne Islands, famous for Grace Darling and puffins. The harbour is still a working port with its own charms.

    Can’t get the builders

Dunstanburgh Castle is one of several castles, in varying states of repair, along the north east coast of England.
