  • Bats

    Coming out to play
As the mist lies in the gorge.
    Bats possess the night.

A foggy evening on a path that cuts a gorge through the sandstone near home. The cutting was originally made to enable coal to be transported to/from the canal.
I posted this image on Instagram once, and was informed by one critic that the bats didn’t look real, they must have been photoshopped. I thought that was fairly obvious, but hey, it adds atmosphere.

  • Woodland Mist

    Alone in the woods
As the sun burns through the mist.
    Waiting for the light.

Note to self. Stop being so lazy, and get up in the morning. Not in the summer of course, that is ridiculous unless you are camping out. But autumn/winter when sunrise is at a reasonable time should be doable. I will do it.

  • Into the mist

    Three cold fishermen
    Gliding through misty waters.
    Dawn expedition.

We stopped at this lake at the beginning of our drive out of Killarney around the Ring of Kerry. Apparently it is quite photogenic, but we never found out. The mist lifted eventually but we were long gone.

  • Misty morning

    No gorillas here
    on a morning woodland stroll.
    Just trees in the mist.

The purpose of the walk was to get to the beacon for stunning views over the Malvern Hills. The weather had other ideas, and by the time we reached the top our view was fog and about ten feet in front of us. However, on the way up, there were other photographic opportunities thankfully.
