  • Endgame

    Choices have been made,
Lines have been drawn in the sand.
    There’s no turning back.

Although we are coming up to the season of goodwill, we remain in the shadow of two men in severe mental decline, who are also leaders of countries with rather large nuclear arsenals, and who seem anxious to use them. An apocalyptical haiku seems appropriate, and the image is hopefully sombre enough.
    Happy holidays 😂😂

  • A Proper Charlie

    Funny little man
With a bowler and a cane.
    Silent movie star.

Another from Ireland. This time the small town of Waterville. Charlie Chaplin (did you guess?) spent holidys here with his family. There is also a bronze statue of him in the town, which hosts an annual Charlie Chaplin Comedy Film Festival, celebrating his legacy.

  • Into the mist

    Three cold fishermen
    Gliding through misty waters.
    Dawn expedition.

We stopped at this lake at the beginning of our drive out of Killarney around the Ring of Kerry. Apparently it is quite photogenic, but we never found out. The mist lifted eventually but we were long gone.

  • And relax

    Still tranquility.
The gentle swell of the sea
    Stills the busy mind

Dingle harbour, on the Dingle peninsula in Ireland, was once the home of a bottlenose dolphin called Fungi. There is no longer a dolphin there, but sometimes it is enough to sit, look, and enjoy the silence.
